Ahmed Bin Sulayem, Chairman

Ahmed Bin Sulayem has been on the board of directors of DGCX since inception, and took charge as the new DGCX chairman on November 2007. The appointment of Ahmed Bin Sulayem adds momentum to the strategic growth plans of DGCX, which has witnessed remarkable growth right from its inception, both in terms of volumes traded as well as total revenue.

As the Executive Chairman of DMCC, he has spearheaded the success of DMCC in Dubai's commodity market. Prior to joining DMCC in 2002, Ahmed was a director in ASTECO, one of the largest property management companies in Dubai.

Commenting on his appointment, Ahmed Bin Sulayem said he was grateful to the board of directors for the confidence placed in him. "With the support of my colleagues, I am confident that DGCX will continue its triumphant journey; launching in the process, new products relevant to the region, while consolidating the gains made so far. I look forward to taking up the new responsibility," he added.


Jignesh Shah, Vice Chairman

Jignesh is widely considered as a pioneer in the development of Indian commodity markets and is accredited in introducing a unique 'change' agenda that has set new industry standards for commodities and futures trading in the sub continent.

Jignesh is credited for conceptualising and establishing the Multi Commodity Exchange of India (MCX). Since its inception, he has steered MCX into becoming India's leading commodities and futures exchange which has now become the third largest bullion exchange in the world. He is presently the Vice Chairman of MCX.

Prior to setting up MCX in 2002, Jignesh founded Financial Technologies (India) Limited in 1999, as an IT 'Products' organisation with a firm belief of creating, owning and licensing financial technologies. Jignesh broke away from the trend of setting up IT 'Services' companies and spearheaded the creation of a innovative and knowledge based IT 'Products' company. He is the Chairman and Managing Director of FTIL and also it's Chief Business Strategist.

Jignesh was previously associated with Asia's oldest stock exchange, the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), where he was actively involved with automating the trading systems and was responsible for designing and implementing various systems modules. During his time at BSE, Jignesh developed a hands-on expertise with all operations associated with an Exchange. He has also visited several leading international exchanges around the world to fully understand the intricacies of their trading, surveillance, settlement clearing systems and business practices. Jignesh has been a keynote speaker at several industry forums and trade bodies.

Educated at the University of Bombay, Jignesh holds a Bachelors degree in Engineering. He has also attended the New York Institute of Finance where he has undergone specialised training in Money & Capital Markets and Futures & Options Trading.

Gautam Sashittal, Director

   
Gautam Sashittal currently serves a non-executive member on the board of directors of the Dubai Gold and Commodities Exchange (DGCX), a position he has held since January 2010.

Gautam Sashittal, is the Chief Operating Officer of Dubai Multi Commodities Centre Authority (DMCC) and has over 25 years experience in finance, treasury, accounting, risk management, corporate governance, controls and compliance, investor relations management, marketing and business development.

Sashittal previously worked as Chief Financial Officer for the Dubai Gold and Commodities Exchange (DGCX), where he concurrently held the position of Chief Marketing Officer. Sashittal has worked with a big four accountancy firm and has extensive experience in the oil and gas industry, having spent a large part of his career in a number of senior roles with Royal Dutch Shell Plc and more recently as CFO of Dragon Oil Plc, a Dublin and London listed independent oil and gas producer. 


Joseph Massey, Director

Joseph Massey has over 15 years of experience in financial institutions, stock and commodity exchanges in India. Presently, he is the Managing Director & CEO of MCX, where he has played a vital role in its success. At MCX, he leads the operations of the Exchange and establishes it as a preferred choice for commodity traders.

Prior to joining MCX, Joseph was the Managing Director at Interconnected Stock Exchange of India, a collaboration of 15 regional stock exchanges creating a unified national market system. Joseph has held senior management positions at Vadodara Stock Exchange, Life Insurance Corporation of India, Reserve Bank of India and Stock Holding Corporation of India.

Joseph is a visiting faculty at JBIMS and SNDT where he lectures on Systems Analysis. His articles have been published in The Economic Times, Financial Express and several business magazines. He is also a regular speaker at financial markets conferences and management institutes.

Joseph holds an MA in Economics and a Masters degree in Financial Management. He has attended training and professional development programmes at the International Law Institute in Washington, New York Institute of Finance and Reserve Bank of India's Staff Training College.
